All-Hands Meeting – Wednesday, February 7, 2024 5:30 – 7 pm Friedl Bldg (East Campus)
The Duke Faculty Union is inviting members and potential members alike to a dinner and meeting of the whole bargaining unit on Wednesday February 7 from 5:30 to 7 pm at 107 Friedl Building on East Campus. If you aren’t a DFU member yet, you can join today by filling out this form (chose “Duke Faculty Union” in the “Employer” drop-down).
In addition to a hot meal, the meeting will feature a panel discussion called Growing at Duke: A Perspective from Three Non-Regular Rank Faculty. The panelists will be:
- Dr. Genna Miller, Lecturing Fellow of Economics, one of four recipients of Duke’s highest undergraduate teaching prize, the Arts & Sciences Council Teaching Award
- Dr. Eileen Anderson, Lecturing Fellow of Romance Studies, who will be teaching a Duke in New York class this summer entitled Culture, Politics, and Identity: The Nuyorican Experience
- MJ Sharp, former Lecturing Fellow of Documentary Studies, who received a Fulbright to conduct research in Cornwall, England in 2022
The panelists will discuss their philosophies and strategies for expanding what’s possible for Non-Regular Rank faculty members. The meeting will also be a great chance to meet other DFU members, ask questions, and find out more about opportunities within DFU.
Dinner and socializing will start at 5:30 pm, and the panel discussion at 6 pm.
